24X7 Pharmacy Services

The Hospital pharmacy at SDM Hospital is open throughout the day. The department is established  to manage the procurement, storage, preservation, packaging, sterilization, compounding, dispensing or distribution of  medicine in the hospital.

The objective of the service is to establish relationships with key individuals and organizations to improve the quality use of medicines and health outcomes and to provide quality research and education that can add to the quality of life of members of the community .

The Pharmacy is located on the ground floor, providing easy accessibility for all of the other departments. The department has a storage for common medicine, narcotic medicine, poisons inflammable materials, cold space & refrigerator for biological products & heat labile substances. There is also a temperature monitoring system for the refrigeration of medicines. ex: Insulins , vaccines , toxoids etc. A separate location is being allotted for the near expiry drugs and is being monitored on a frequent basis. We have been practicing error free packaging and dispensing medications to the patient. i.e. compounding/ billing, dispensing of prescription, packaging, issuing of medicine to the patients & medicine to the nursing unit. The pharmacy is open 24X7 for both outpatient and inpatient departments of the hospital.
